Our Story

A name borrowed from memory.

Before El Khabya was a brand, the khabya was a vessel. It kept what a family valued most. We carry that forward.

The Vessel

What the khabya held.

In Tunisian homes the khabya was a large clay vessel, set in the coolest corner of the house. It held the family's olive oil and honey through the year. Wealth was not counted in currency but in harvests, and the khabya was where that wealth was kept.

To fill it was to be ready. To pass it on, full, was an act of care. That idea, protecting something of value and handing it forward, sits at the centre of everything we make.

The Place

Tunisia and the Mediterranean.

Tunisia sits where the desert meets the sea. Its food is Berber, Arab, and Mediterranean at once, shaped by the people who have crossed it for three thousand years. The honey carries the plant it came from; the oil carries the soil.

We source by region and by character, never by volume. A southern Sidr is not a northern thyme, and we do not pretend otherwise.

Most Tunisian food leaves the country as a commodity. We thought it deserved to leave as a gift.

Why El Khabya exists

The Reason

Why El Khabya exists.

Tunisian honey and olive oil exist in the world. But the truest of it rarely travels: honey drawn from single blossoms in remote regions, oil from trees a thousand years old, harvested by hand in small communities where this care was never an idea, only the way things are done.

El Khabya carries that Tunisia outward, the way it should arrive: as a gift. To introduce the richness of Tunisia, beautifully.

The Mission

To introduce the richness of Tunisia, beautifully.

We start with honey, then olive oil, then the wider Tunisian pantry. Quality before scale, always. Every product should teach the person who receives it something they did not know about where it came from.
